I definitely struggle getting the apples to pop when I use a light background. On the next couple of paintings you'll see me experimenting with different backgrounds. I am (still) in Hood River as I write this. Apparently my friend Patti was not rattled by the fact that she's been eating/painting/rooming with a rule-breaker (see yesterday's post) - she assured me.
