CAROL MARINE'S PAINTING A DAY -  1/31/13 "Yellow Mustang" - 6x6in. - click here to bid I took the photo for this one in Georgia last year. My friends and I were standing near the water (the water you can't see) happily taking pictures of two kayakers. As they came closer it became obvious they were not happy with us. "Did we say you could take our picture?" (downer!) As we left I took a quick pic of their car. CAROL MARINE'S PAINTING A DAY -  1/26/13 "The Rose Knows" - 6x6in. - click here to bid I can't wait until the big rose garden in Eugene starts blooming again so I can go and take more pictures!  Meanwhile I still have a few more from last year. I took this painting (still slightly wet) to a little show and tell with some artist friends in Salem today, and got to see some of their work too. CAROL MARINE'S PAINTING A DAY -  1/24/13 "Rosey and Posey" - 6x6in. - click here to bid Today I felt like painting roses. I did three but wiped one. Every time I think I've come up with a good approach for them, the next time I try it doesn't work. What I mean to say is - they're hard to paint!    I announced my last workshop too soon! I didn't realize they weren't taking names yet, and was just this minute informed. They say they'll start registration in mid to late February, and I have asked them to let me know the exact day so I can re-announce it. Sorry about that!!! I made an assumption and you know what they say about that ... : )    Also I've been having trouble with the layout of my email getting all wonky, so I decided to switch to a new template. Time for a change anyway? my blog my website  my DPW gallery my books panel holders email me    CAROL MARINE'S PAINTING A DAY  "Bird, Suitcase, Bike" - 12x24 in -  click to bid - bidding starts at $425      I did this larger painting yesterday from a photo I took in Freiburg, Germany a couple of years ago. The sign at the top reads "Engel - Apotheke" which means Angel Pharmacy. Here is the close-up of the lady and her bike:   So, what's funny about this is it had 2 more people in it, but they were both in awkward positions so I left them out. My husband came in and said, "These 2 look awful lonely." I puzzled over it for about an hour and finally googled pictures of pigeons (which we see in Freiburg) in similar light and added one along the bottom. I don't usually add things like that, but I think it turned out really well. I love the red coat. I took my time painting - didn't rush any bit of it. Took 3 hours, which is quite a bit longer than usual.
