My mother-in-law taught me how to knit, and I've appreciated it ever since. It's one of those things I can sit and do for hours. Somehow it takes up just enough of the analytical side of my brain to let my creative brain wander uninhibited. My mother-in-law's name is Carol too. Carol Jane Marine, and I'm Carol Jean Marine. Funny, huh?! Thanks, Carol!
I was playing around with color on this one. The photo reference (from Seattle) was very gray, and honestly, kinda boring (but great values!). So I spiced it up.
This is a scene from Seattle that I've been wanting to paint for a while. These two guys were just perfect - perfect poses, light, background, etc. I had to make only very minor adjustments. It's been especially nice to paint sunny scenes when the snow is falling here. It's been quite cozy in my studio.
