It probably seems like I'm doing this a lot lately, and that's because I am. Through a scheduling glitch (my bad) I overbooked myself this month. Wine helps me through. : ) Thanks to all of you who weighed in on the "still" life painting I posted a couple days ago. It was very interesting hearing all the opinions. Today I am posting an attempt at folds that I think is my best ever. I can't really explain why, but I would be curious to hear if anyone else has the same feeling. It's like all the players are frozen, mesmerized by what they see through the turquoise bottle. On another note, I posted this week's Daily Paintworks challenge today! It's the One Color Per Stroke Challenge, and as of this minute we already have 9 entries. I think it's so cool to see everyone participating and having fun with this. Below is my example painting. You've probably noticed that I like to do a series of the things I find to paint. I have several reasons for that. One, I hate to waste anything. That is fundamental in my nature. Alas. Two, I get excited about whatever subject I'm on and when I'm painting the first one I'm usually getting ideas for a second, third, etc. Three, I feel I must paint each subject until I say ... what I want to say about it. The segment, "Going Going Gone" was about selling art online - Etsy vs. Ebay specifically. You can listen to the recorded segment here. Also, I am proud to announce I've been approached again to have my art in a movie! This one is called "When Angels Sing". Hopefully this time a little more than the bottom half of the painting will actually appear in a scene.
